Known as the "Wonder-Worker", DeWalt was a machinist and inventor known best for his radial arm saw, the first adjustable electric saw that could perform multiple cutting operations efficiently.
In 1928, he founded the DeWalt Products Company, which is now one of the world's leading manufacturers of power tools and woodworking equipment.
In 1709, Hans Herr lead a group of Mennonite families out of Europe to find religious freedom and economic opportuniy in what became Lancaster County. He established the Pequea Colony, the first Mennonite settlement in America.
In 1719, his son built the stone house now known as the Hans Herr House, the oldest surviving dwelling in Lancaster County and one of the oldest Mennonite buildings in the U.S.
